How We started
Sascha Gianella is an Australian Swiss with a career spanning 30 years as a gallerist, curator, advisor, writer, and the founder of We, The Muse.
After working in commercial galleries in the UK and Australia, she established Sascha Gianella Art Contemporain (SGAC) in Switzerland in 2008. Sascha has curated exhibitions in Australia, France, China, Switzerland and the UK and offers guidance to collectors in Asia, the UK, US and Europe.
Her written work includes essays and monographs for artists, galleries and associations, and research on contemporary professional practices. She has actively volunteered within arts organisations her entire career including aparté in Switzerland.
Sascha passionately advocates for artists’ rights, with a particular emphasis on initiatives that foster fair practices in professional practice, and peer collaboration and connection. Sascha launched We, The Muse in 2020 as an international initiative that addresses these issues.
